Irgendwann stockt der Fahrstuhl und auch die Treppe führt nur vor eine verschlossene Tür. Für vergleichbar qualifizierte Männer ist sie jedoch offen. Warum ist das so und wie wird das Problem seitens der Politik angegangen?

Prof. Kädtler (Soziologe) betrachtet die Kapitalismusform des "Finanzmarktkapitalismus" aus soziologischer Perspektive, im besonderen aus Sicht der Konventionenökonomik. Nach Einführungen in (a) Finanzmärkte, (b) Finanzialisierung und Finanzmarktkapitalismus (ab 9:30) sowie (c) Formationstheorien und „Cultural Economy"-Ansätze (u.a. Konventionenökonomik) (ab 16:00), liegt der Schwerpunkt der Analyse darauf, (d) mithilfe der Konventionenökonomik zu erklären, wie ein System des Finanzmarktkapitalismus entstehen konnte (ab 38:00). Kurz geht der Vortragende am Ende der Frage nach, warum sich die Situation auch nach der globalen Finanzkrise nicht geändert hat. Der Vortrag bietet einen interessanten ersten Einblick in die soziologische Perspektive auf Finanzmarktkapitalismus. Die Hauptanalyse und die Anwendung der Theorie an praktischen Beispielen ist eher kurz gehalten, allerdings werden relevante Schulen und Autoren genannt, die weiter recherchiert werden können.

Dieses Dossier sammelt Materialien, die sich mit der Ursache der aktuellen Krise der Autoindustrie und den Schwächen der bisherigen Lösungsansätze beschäftigen und adressieren, wie eine soziale und klimagerechte Konversion der Autoindustrie aussehen kann.

Die Welt verändern, ohne die Macht zu übernehmen – dieser Buchtitel aus dem Jahr 2002 steht emblematisch für ein Verhältnis zur Macht, das in Teilen der Linken lange Zeit vorherrschend war. Der Autor des Buches, John Holloway, war selbst Teil der Weltsozialforen-Bewegung und stellte sich entschieden gegen herkömmliche Vorstellungen linker Gegenmacht, etwa im Sinne des Aufbaus einer linken Massenpartei. Aus derselben Zeit stammt auch das Konzept der «Multitude» aus der Feder von Michael Hardt und Antonio Negri. Es richtete sich gegen den identitären Begriff eines «Volkes», und ebenso gegen eine politische Bezugnahme auf die «Arbeiter*innenklasse». Diesen politischen Subjekten wurde eine Vielfalt widerständiger, global verteilter Praktiken und Gruppierungen entgegengestellt, die sich jedoch nicht vereinheitlichen ließen. Das Verhältnis dieser Multitude zur Erringung von Macht wurde offengelassen.
Die Macht übernehmen und die Welt verändern?
Spätestens seit der Finanzkrise im Jahr 2008 gibt es eine breite Kritik an dem dominanten Paradigma der Neoklassik und seiner Lehre. Wie die vorliegende Untersuchung zeigt, ist diese Kritik mehr als berechtigt. Diese exemplarische Beobachtung und Analyse einer Einführungsveranstaltung an einer der größten Universitäten Deutschlands zeigt, dass die wirtschaftswissenschaftliche Lehre Prinzipien wie dem Kontroversitätsgebot, die jede sozialwissenschaftliche Lehre erfüllen sollte, nicht gerecht wird. Stattdessen wird weiterhin einseitig in die Neoklassik und ihre Modelle eingeführt, ohne Reflexion ihrer Grundannahmen oder Behandlung ihrer Kritik.

Our campaign for pluralism, including this series, have generally focused on ideas outside the mainstream on the basis that it gets plenty of attention already so we want to spend our time exposing people to alternatives. Nevertheless, mainstream ideas deserve some attention. On top of this, a curious feature of modern economics education is that some of the best ideas from mainstream economics are not even taught to undergraduates!
