Comment from our editors:
This volume (and the others) is edited by two historians of economics. Gilbert Faccarelo is well known in the field in France, as is Heinz Kurz in Austria. Volume 1 provides short biographical essays. Though predominantly presenting western economists, it is still a quite handy reference, used a lot by historians of economics and economists. Volume II deals with schools of thought in economics, while Vol. III concentrates on developments in major fields of economics.
