Gegenstand der Studie ist eine vergleichende Bestandsaufnahme des aktuellen Profils und der zukünftigen Entwicklungstendenzen in der deutschen und US-amerikanischen Volks- wirtschaftslehre (VWL). Hintergrund ist die Frage nach einem deutschen Sonderweg in der Ökonomie. Hierfür werden die derzeit tätigen VWL-Universitätsprofessor_innen in Deutschland und den USA im Hinblick auf ihre thematische und inhaltliche Ausrichtung sowie auf ihr akademisches und außeruniversitäres Wirkungsspektrum untersucht.
Die VWL in Deutschland und den USA — eine ländervergleichende Analyse
Bei der Klimafrage müssen nicht nur ökologische, sondern auch gesellschaftliche Aspekte berücksichtigt werden. Denn ein dauerhaftes Makromanagement, das die Natur zwar preislich abbilden kann, dessen Richtungsbestimmung aber privatisiert bleibt, wird weder das Klima noch die Demokratie retten.
Ein echter Green New Deal sollte auch die Demokratie stärken
Die Studie untersucht, wie Studierende der Volkswirtschaftslehre (VWL) an deutschen Hochschulen ihr Fach und die Pluralismusdebatte wahrnehmen. Schriftlich befragt wurden 351 Studierende der VWL im vierten Semester an den Universitäten Bonn, Frankfurt/M., Hamburg, Heidelberg und Mannheim.
