Le libéralisme allemand qui est au cœur de la construction européenne porte le nom d’ordolibéralisme. C’est une voie à mi-chemin entre le capitalisme à l’anglo-saxonne, qu’on considère en général comme le plus proche de l’orthodoxie classique, de l’ultra-libéralisme, et un capitalisme keynésien plutôt orienté vers des politiques de la demande. Cependant, l'ordolibéralisme allemand demeure une forme de néolibéralisme. L'idée de l'épisode est de décrire un courant de pensée qui tient plus de l’idéologie ou de l’opinion politique que de la science. En effet, l’ordolibéralisme, comme de nombreux autres courants de pensés en économie, propose des hypothèses plausibles, potentiellement justes, mais non vérifiées voire non vérifiables ainsi qu’une version simplifiée de la mécanique économique qui ne colle pas toujours avec la réalité. La description de la pensée ordolibérale permet de comprendre pourquoi la Zone Euro est organisée d'une manière si spécifique : Pourquoi la banque centrale européenne est-elle indépendante ? Pourquoi celle-ci ne peut-elle pas financer des états ? Pourquoi doit-elle se concentrer uniquement sur des problématiques d'inflation ? Pourquoi la commission européenne insiste-t-elle tant sur le rôle de la concurrence ? Pourquoi le budget des états ne doit pas dépasser un déficit de 3% du PIB ?

In den vergangen Jahren gab es in der Öffentlichkeit aber auch innerhalb der wissenschaftlichen Gemeinde zunehmend Kritik an der Einseitigkeit der derzeitig gelehrten Volkswirtschaftslehre. Vor diesem Hintergrund initiierte das Netzwerk Plurale Ökonomik ein Kooperationsprojekt mit der Universität Kassel, um diese Kritik empirisch zu überprüfen. Das Projekt wurde von der Hans-Böckler-Stiftung gefördert. Die Ergebnisse dieses zweijährigen Forschungsprojektes liegen nun vor.

This lecture is based on the “Introducing the Economy” chapter from the Economy Studies book, which introduces the first building block in their framework for transforming the economics education. The aim is to give students a feel and understanding of the economy as part of a bigger whole. Thus, it is aimed to introduce to students before getting into the economics curriculum with theory and models.

Warum wurden nach der Finanzkrise weder die Finanz- und Wirtschaftsordnung noch die Wirtschaftswissenschaft angepasst oder erneuert? Warum wird an vorherrschenden Prinzipien und Theorien festgehalten? Joseph Vogl geht diesen Fragen im Vortrag „Das seltsame Überleben der Theodizee in der Ökonomie“ nach und spricht von einer Oikodizee, einer Glaubensehre in der Ökonomie, einem metaphysischem Ansatz und einer dogmatischen Substanz im ökonomischen Denken, die nicht angetastet wird. Ein besonderes Augenmerk der Vortrages liegt auf ökonomischen Prognosen in der Krise und Theorien zu Märkten.

The MINE website explores the interplay between nature and economy. Focusing on such fundamental concepts as time, thermodynamics, evolution, homo politicus and justice, a new outline of economic activity emerges within nature. The dominant approach of Mainstream Economics, which considers nature as a subsystem of the economy, is thus replaced by a broader and more integrated framework. The visual map and its links between concepts provides an orientation. The visitor can approach the content from their own starting point and follow their own path to discovery. Each concept starts with the historical background and moves on through theory and practice. The research behind MINE began in the 1970s at the University of Heidelberg, Germany, in an interdisciplinary group spearheaded by Professor Malte Faber, including scientists from economics to mathematics, physics and philosophy. Will man umsichtige Daseinsvorsorge betreiben und die Bereitstellung von lebensnotwendigen Gütern und Dienstleistungen erreichen, ist ökonomische Effizienz schlichtweg der falsche Weg. Dabei begegnet uns dieser Widerspruch von Vorsorge und Effizienz im Gesundheitssektor nicht nur in der jüngsten Versorgungskrise mit Medikamenten, sondern dieser Gegensatz zeigte sich nicht zuletzt auch während der Pandemie auf dramatische Weise. Global Social Theory is a large wiki-like project by Gurminder K Bhambra. Its central aim is decolonising and diversifying universities, production of knowledge, and social thought in general. It represents a large online library divided into three parts: concepts, thinkers, and topics in/of social theory and decolonial thought. Every part comprises of short, introductory articles on an according theme. It may be helpful to give you a general overview (and a list of basic readings) on the most essential areas of social theory: caste, class, and race; civil society; racism; secularism; feminism and many others. It may also allow students whose university curriculum in sociology, economics, or other social sciences lacks diversity to compensate for that.
