Maxine Fowé

is an International Economics graduate candidate at Berlin School of Economics and Law. Before that, she studied Philosophy, Politics & Economics in Maastricht and London. She is interested in the political economy of contemporary forms of capitalism and heterodox economic alternatives that transcend the paradigm of neoclassical economics and the neoliberal state.

In the first intellectual history of neoliberal globalism, Quinn Slobodian follows neoliberal thinkers from the Habsburg Empire’s fall to the creation of the World Trade Organization to show that neoliberalism emerged less to shrink government and abolish regulations than to deploy them globally to protect capitalism.
