You seem to be interested in participating in our summer academy. Wonderful :)

The core element of the Summer Academy are the nine parallel workshops, i.e. seminar groups of around ten people who deal with a particular school of thought or economic perspective. You can choose your workshop (to be more correct: you choose up to three workshop preferences and we try to put the groups together according to your priorities so that everything matches) and then stay in this seminar group throughout the week. It is clear to us that many of you would be interested in several workshops. For this reason, there will be opportunities during the week to exchange ideas with participants from other workshops.

Please note that a substantial amount of preparation may be required for the workshops. So it would be good if you would make sure that you have enough time in advance to work through the materials that the lectures provide and perhaps put your own thoughts on paper.

The participation fee is 180 Euro. With this (and numerous third-party grants) we can cover the costs for lecturers, accommodation, and catering. However, we would be very grateful if you could contribute more if your financial situation allows. This way you are able to support others who would not otherwise participate. Our idea is that if you pay 50 Euro more, another person who can only pay 130 Euro instead of the full 180 Euro will be able to participate. If you need financial support, the system works the other way around. If you cannot afford the 180 Euro, please indicate on the registration form that you need financial support. We will then come back to you and try together to make it possible for you to participate.

To sign up, please complete the registration form.

At the same time, please send your CV (two pages max, no photo) and a motivation letter (400 words max), both as a PDF, to summeracademy@exploringeconomics.orgOnly after we have received your registration data, your CV as well as your motivation letter, will we be able to process your registration.

The registration is open until June 23, 2019. You should receive a confirmation by July 7 the latest. Additionally, there is an early bird deadline of June 9 2019. Any application submitted by this date will be processed until Jun 16.

If we receive more registrations than we have places, we will first try to book more beds and then select the participants based on the documents you have provided.

We are aware of structural inequalities that disproportionately affect some groups over others. Furthermore, we believe that a diverse group of participants is essential for a meaningful discussion on economic pluralism. We aim for a balanced mix of genders, nationalities, economic status, and levels of experience. Thus, we strongly encourage applicants from all backgrounds, and are committed to welcoming a diverse community of participants for the 2019 summer academy.

This project is brought to you by the Network for Pluralist Economics (Netzwerk Plurale Ökonomik e.V.).  It is committed to diversity and independence and is dependent on donations from people like you. Regular or one-off donations would be greatly appreciated.
